The first day of our Reboot was pretty easy. I went shopping for the first phase of the program (days 1 to 5), and bought as much as organic produce as I could. I bought most things at Costco and Trader Joe’s and the final cost was around $200 US dollars.
When I got home I washed everything in water with white vinegar and the vegetable’s cleaning solution I buy at Traders or Sprouts. Then dried, prepped and stored it all to make my life easier.
The First Day Menu looked like this:
When you wake up:8 0z (250 ml) hot water with lemon and ginger
Breakfast: Berry-Apple Cinnamon Bake (see recipe on my Instagram)
Morning Snack: Carrot Apple Ginger Juice (recipe below)
Lunch: Reboot Green Salad (recipe below)+ Carrot and Sweet Potato Fries
Afternoon Snack: Carrot Apple Ginger Juice
Dinner: Kale and avocado Salad with Vinaigrette +Carrot and Sweet Potato Fries (recipe at Reboot with Joe website)
Before Bed: Herbal Tea
One thing that makes it easier is that the morning and afternoon snacks are the same, and all recipes yield 2 servings, so you can save one serving for later.
And another thing is that I always adapt the recipes to my taste and convenience. If I don’t like something, or cannot find it at the store, I try to substitute it for another same color vegetable. I know it is not the same, but I refuse to suffer and eat something I hate (like raw cilantro),or spend a fortune on something that is off season.
First day was easy. No side effects. I actually felt a rush of energy mid-afternoon as if I had just drank 3 shots of espresso.
Nine days to go.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate your efforts and I am waiting for your next write ups thank you once again.

I tried this a while back too. I’ve tried a lot of things, lol! Seem to have settled on the ” Nourishing Traditions” though. I love food and love to cook from scratch, it just works for me and without trying I lost 10 pounds and feel great. One thing I’ve learned is that everybody’s body is different, just a matter of what is best for your own self. Fun blog you have! Glad I found it:)

I agree. I have tried many things too. My goal was to stop the inflammation pain and lose the weight I gained when I stopped exercising due to an injury. For me, staying away of processed sugar, flour and pretty much everything that comes in a box or package has dramatically changed my health. I like the concept of “Nourishing Traditions” but don’t know a whole lot about it. Thank you for stopping by!
